For me, dinner rolls are symbolic of a feast at my Gram's house. Whether it be for Valentine's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas or even a Fourth of July party, my Gram has always had dinner rolls available for any meal. The problem with Gram's rolls are, they take too long to make! I love them and I dream about them, but I dread making them because of the time consumption. It's pretty much a whole day process.
Hmmm...which is better? An hour here and there or six hours at once? I'll have to think about that.
But in the meantime, here is a quick, easy dinner roll recipe that takes less than an hour from start to finish and tastes
Super Easy Dinner Rolls Ingredients
Cooking Instructions In a large bowl, combine the warm water, yeast, sugar and oil. Sift the flour and salt into the liquid mixture. Stir until the mixture begins to resemble dough (or you just can't mix anymore). Turn the dough onto a floured work surface. Knead the dough until smooth, about 5 minutes. Pat the dough into a large rectangle, about 1/2 inch thick. Use a 3-inch biscuit cutter or a round drinking glass to cut 12 dinner rolls out of the dough. Position the dinner rolls 1 to 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Cover with a kitchen towel and place the pan in a warm place. Allow the dough to double in size, about 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove the rolls from the oven. Drizzle with melted butter. Return the dinner rolls to the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. |
